Opomba:

Jajce je v pred-antiki, pri Etruščanih in Venetih simbol začetka in konca življenja.

Poglej razlago pod besedo "clasial" kjer pod naslovom (..; Etruscan Gods drink life from dying) razlagam etr. mitološko pojmovanje duše. Poglej besedo "creicia"... krakniti jajce

Note:
An egg in pre-antique as well as for Etruscans and Veneti symbolized beginning and the end of life. In it is caught a soul before birth and after death. Etruscans, and there's evidence Veneti too, believed that Gods crack open it and drink its contents.

Check out the word "clasial", and the title "..; Etruscan Gods drink life from dying"

English: Here you see the two: after Hercules got tired, the goddess offered him her milk.
Etrlgs: This image shows how Hercle, the son of Uni, sucked (milk)
Tisti, ki so se bolj resno posvetili etruščanskim napisom se najbrž zavedajo razlik med prevodoma etruskologov in prevodom Bora. Ne da bi se spuščal v podrobnosti in iskanju katere besede so in niso prisotne na napisu, naj v potrdilo, Borovega prevoda omenim še en etruščanski napis, ki na podobni način opisuje dojenje kot ga poznamo navadni smrtniki:

Etruscologists' linguistic efforts are rather superficial
Etruskologi poglejte v ogledalo

An important difference in interpretation of the above inscription describing revitalization of Hercule's powers, between Slavic scientists linguists, researchers on one hand and the Etruscologists on the other, is how each of them is treating the word "unial".

The famous Slovene researcher and linguist , whose work has finally been revealed to the Slovenian public in the mid 80's almost two decades after he had began his extensive studies of the ancient European cultures and languages of Veneti, views the two civilizations as related, hence, his interpretation of the early Etruscan language is indeed based Venetic i.e. Slavic vocabularies and grammar. Accordingly in [V-p389], Bor translates the word "unial" with the help of the Slavic languages, where in Slovenian its translation is "uniti se"="utruditi se" (to get tired),   just the same as is in OCS (Old Church Slavic) the word "unyti" means "to get tired", similarly in Russian we have the word "unjat'" (to calm down).

The Etruscologists on the other hand, in order to contradict the very convincing and obvious Slavic interpretation, had to invent a new Etruscan grammatic rule, in order to accommodate their translation. Namely, they "believe", that the suffix "-al" in "unial" is denoting an Accusative form of a noun, in our case the name of the Goddess "uni" (Juno).

The main motivation behind my going through the trouble mentioning all of the above, comes from the fact, that Etruscologists have actually used the word "clan", which we are extensively analyzing in this article, where also happens to have landed the above interesting and indeed, rather educational inscription of an Oracle saving Hercule's life. An astute, reader will have noticed, that particularly with the word "clan" we can witness precisely how superficial and inadequate is the linguistic analysis the Etruscologists are basing their interpretations of Etruscan language.

While elaborating on two or three grammatic they invented out of the blue, Etruscologists are ignoring the fact that there are more than twenty or thirty times the number of cases that pertain to the word "clan" than those few on which they selectively chose to work on, and that each of those they missed also have an adequate corresponding explanation in a Slavic or Venetic languages.

Note: This is an excellent example, showing how Etruscologists, try to explain Etruscan scripts merely as lists names, which largely due to the naivety and not seldom a rather poor linguistic knowledge of most of the western historians and indeed even many linguists, go unchallenged, and thereby create an illusion of completeness, which in the case of many Etruscan scripts is reinforced by the fact that they had either been created or brought to funeral ceremonies, or placed in tombs to enrich the afterlife of the dead.

In a sepulchral environment, at the first glance it, indeed, seems reasonable to accept the idea of words in short inscriptions to be family names and those buried in the family tombs. Consequently an inscription adorning a wall-painting depicting family life, or life of aristocracy in a tomb most likely mentions the names of the dead laid there to rest. Here we can see, how Etruscologists were inspired by the art work in the tomb, to accomplish two things,     (1) explain the above wall-paintings, and     (2) to claim they found the ownership and identity of the people in the respective tomb.

Unfortunately, by this they almost sealed the further research for the pertinent words, namely one can grammatically do only so much with a name... This approach may have been acceptable at the beginning, but it proved to be rather limiting in a long run. We can see the effect of their eagerness to limit so many Etruscan words to just names in longer inscriptions, discovered recently, whereby some paragraphs become mere lists of words or partial lists of family trees. Another pointer to such nonsensical use of names is the fact that in so many different places we find the same names. For instance few such names are the name starting with the initial letters Vel..., Seti... where:

Vel... (velik [large]),
Seti... (svetel, sveti [bright, shine]),
Lar... (lara=, varuh, gospodar [guardian soul, sir]),
Arn... (zgodaj, ranki [early, the late]),
Nini... (ninaj, leži, spati [lay, sleep]), ...
As you can see, all these are much better explained as the roots of a large groups of words, as are typically found in the Slavic languages. For example the word Vel... is a root for Slovene veliki, vilikaš, veljak, velik, veliko,... which is much more suitable as an aristocratic title than merely a name, beside it encapsulates a meaning, always totally missing in the interpretations Etruscologists provide. Seti..., or Anini..., or Nini... are also such words which have in Slavic languages perfect meaning for the sepulchral situations, and are repeated over and over again in the scripts found in these environments, and yet are completely void of any meaning for the Etruscologists.

Etrlgs: Again an example, with Etruscologists explaining Etruscan scripts as lists names. In fact, I can say that the Etruscologists are preoccupied with names so much so that they developed an extensive theory, about Etruscan family names, and missed on all the fun and exciting parts of the messages, Etruscans are sending us from "beyond". For instance, about the above inscription on the sarcophagus [tE-p:104] they write:

... One may also suggest Etruscan women possessed considerable social standings, to which point the use of matronymics in inscriptions. The above sarcophagus from Tuscania bears the inscription that illustrates these points well: the name of the deceased, Sethre Vipinans is followed by that of his father Velthur, together with his mother Thanchvilu and her family name Meclasia (or patronymic: 'the daughter of Meclas'.
Note:
I have not spend too much time trying to translate the above inscriptions, and I believe there may exist much better solutions. However, this precisely is my point, namely, that with the help of Slovene language many Etruscan texts can be effortlessly translated, whereas, by using the model Etruscologists employ, they are stuck by declaring most of the words to be meaningless proper names.
Opomba:
Naj vas opozorim, da tem mojim prevodom ne posvečam velike pozornosti in da verjetno obstajajo veliko boljši in morda tudi bolje utemeljeni prevodi. Očitno pa je, da je slovenščina kot jezikovno orodje, kolikor sem uspel doslej videti, veliko primernejša pri študiju etruščansščine kot katerikoli drugi jezik.

NOTE:(Se ne strinjam z Etruskologi, ki v napisu vidijo številko)

tE-p105, tle-180

Case against treating too many Etruscan words as names

As we have seen above under the paragraph "Etrlgs:" the methods Etruscologists use, really can not give much more than lists of names which, just like in most other cases, are nothing but meaningless "names". However, we again find out that it is possible to employ comparative linguistic and Slovenian language, to get much more meaningful results, as I will try to demonstrate next.

Sethre=SeOre (duša živečih ... še orje [soul of the living]),
vipinan[a]s (popil, vpil - Rus:vypit [пить, вы-пить] = popiti   [ drink ]),
Velthur=VelOur (veličanstvo [highness]),
Thanchvilu=OanXvil (Bog podzemlja [God of the underworld]),
Meclasia=me.clasia (me klal, umoril [killed me]),...

Urn with
breasts
If we allow for the possibility that Etruscan inscriptions may be related to Venetic language, which in turn is a proto Slavic language, we come across astonishing discovery. Namely, many Etruscan inscriptions convey a belief that the life of the dying becomes a beverage for Etruscan gods, and that they end up drinking the life of a dying out of their soul which they crack open like an egg. There exists even an Etruscan urn with breasts - (you may click the image on the right hand-side).

For instance:

Krakniti dušo (Cracking a soul like an egg)
Beseda Napis
creicia cp0-14: velisa .creicia .anesa
Slovensko: Veličanstvo poči lupino (krakne jajce) spečega;     (krakniti, krkniti, crkniti)
English: Almighty cracks a soul of a sleeping man.
Etrlgs: n/a
creicesa cp0-16: Oana .vipinei .ranazunia .creicesa
Slovensko: (1) "Božjega napoja popij ranjeni bolnik"     (2) "Boginja popije zgodaj izlito (ranjeneo) počeno dušo"
English: Goddess drinks up early spilled and cracked soul.
Etrlgs: n/a
There are a quite a few other inscriptions that support the above conclusions and the thesis about the newly discovered Etruscan mythological model about gods cracking and drinking souls of the dying.
V slovenščini je tudi zanimiva relacija med zgornjimi etruščanskimi mitološkimi pomeni "počene duše", ter besedami "krkniti, crkniti" in "umreti". Obstaja še nekaj napisov, z besedo "krkniti / krakniti" in vsi potrjujejo zgornje domneve in teze.

This amazing new motive of a human soul which at the end of life gods crack and drink its contents, in Etruscan mythology becomes obvious after studying inscriptions containing the words that seem to be built from the root of the Venetic word pi. It seems that Etruscans mythology works both ways, gods drink the contents of the human souls, but mortally wounded humans may also get a vital injection of life by generous breast-feeding goddesses, as we can see on the mirror and its inscription describing the image of a grownup, adult Hercules sucking milk from Junona's breast. The words starting with "vipi...", in Slavic languages ( popil, vpil - Rus:vypit [пить, вы-пить] = popiti) bear the meaning to drink, drink up, drinking, ...

Of course, in the above inscription (vipinans.SeOre.velOurus.me.clasial.OanXvilus.avils.cis.cealXs) we are talking about the first word vipinans. Though vipinans is not on the top of the list of those silly interpretation of Etruscan words as names of the deceased, let's look at it, namely, the word vipina in which Etruscologists see the name Vibenna:

The sheer number of inscriptions containing the words which resemble Venetic or Slavic root word with the above meaning (to drink), as well as an abundance of Etruscan art works depicting breasts, and breast-feeding with relation to Etruscan mythological motive, where gods crack a dying soul like an egg and drink it's contents, are reason enough to doubt the Etruscologists' interpretation that the Etruscan word vipina simply represents later Italianized, and as usually totally meaningless Italian name "Vibenna".

Click to enlarge (Junona breastfeed Hercules)
Junona
breastfeeds
As you may recall we have already mentioned the mirror with the image and the inscription in which the Goddess Juno feeds with her milk to exhausted, or perhaps dying, Hercules to return him to life. But there are other Etruscan art forms which do not shy away from pointing out the importance, value or beauty of the breasts of not only Junona, but also of Etruscan women (EC-p:255,319,361).

Click to enlarge (Tinia holding Junona's breast)
Tinia holding
Junona's breast

There is a beautiful statue of Tinia holding Juno's breast, and also urns with the same motive, depicting Etruscan couples, can be found. You may click on the image here, to see how skilfully Etruscan artist captured a tender moment, convincing us of the godlike excitement in this truly beautiful act of touching the ultimate source of life. The point to make here is, that breasts, and particularly the milk and drinking clearly represent Etruscan mythological motive, and are not to be seen as some Etruscan social deformity, perversion, or an obsession with sexual life, which as we will see, Etruscans also view much more as a miracle of life, rather than an act of something shameful to be hidden away in the darkness or privacy. It is almost as if for Etruscans it is more shameful, and fearful to be deprived of the freedoms and the ability to perform these pleasures of life. Moreover, Etruscans believe that gods can use these "devices" to take, give, or return life from the living and the dying.

Let me reiterate that there are more than 350 Etruscan inscriptions that contain some form of the above Slavic or Venetic word "to dink", and many more, can be found, should we add the words denoting words such such as "medica" - a Slavic brandy made of honey, beer, libations and alike. A significant number of inscriptions can be seen as some kind of Etruscan mythology dealing with death and some kind of sacred funeral ceremonies, which Etruscologists completely missed.

OanXvil ni ime neke etruščanske družine,
ampak vsemogočni Bog onstranstva.

OanXvil je venetski biser med etruščanskimi napisi
ca-07: OanXvil .tamsni .velus .seX
Slovensko: Oanhvil (Vsemogočni bog) onstranski (tamkajšni), velikaš vseh
English: Oanhcvil (Almighty), the God from the underworld, the Almighty.
Etruscologists: Male name

Kipec imenovani Chimera, z napisom TinScvil Vedno kadar sem študiral napise s to besedo sem imel občutek da, mora predstavljati neko mogočno in morda celo zastrašujočo osebnost in šele, ko sem videl sliko "Chimere" z napisom sem seveda pred to enigmatično osebnost dodal še besedico mitološko.

Thanchvilu=OanXvil, OanXvilusc or OanXviluS
Beseda Napis
OanXvil ca-07: OanXvil .tamsni .velus .seX
Slovensko: Oanhvil (Vsemogočni bog, mučitelj) onstranski (tamkajšni), velikaš vseh
English: Oanhcvil (Almighty), the God from the underworld (other side), the Almighty (your highness for all).
Etrlgs: Names without rime or reason.
Ppipomba: Poglejte tudi primer spodaj, ki podobno potrjuje besedo ramOa!
Note: See also a similar inscription for the word ramOa bellow.
ramOa ca-07: ramOa.tamsni.v.s ; Ig: [ ramOa <== see v.s.=velus.seX above ]
Slovensko: (1) "Božanstvo Ram onstranstva, velikaš vseh",
(2) "Darujmo tamkajšnemu velikašu vseh"     [ [ R=D ] damOa ]
English: Ram (The Almighty), the God from the underworld (other side), the Almighty (your highness for all).
Etrlgs: Names without rime or reason.
The reason I am so confident that the above two inscriptions can, and should be, interpreted the same way, particularly I have in mind the abbreviation "v.s.=velus.seX", is because both the ramOa and the OanXvil scripts were filed and saved in the repository for the same archaeological site, and even appeared in the same division named "Caere cum Argo (Caere, Banditaccia)". They were listed almost next to each other.

The above is the famous inscription, which confirmed OanXviluS is most likely the highest god of the underground, but the inscription was telling me this in Slovene or here more appropriately called the Venetic language.

Considering, the fact that these names, when interpreted with the help of Slovene (Venetic) language consistently exhibit exactly those linguistic attributes and meanings one would expect to find in the sepulchral setting, the Etruscologists have done an excellent job bluffing their linguistic competency, in an exceedingly rich narrative that after all manages to distinguish the gender and, moreover, from that even project social standings of Etruscan women.

Let's be clear, that nobody disputes the above findings of the Etruscologists, particularly the fact, that Etruscan women, in comparison with Roman women, had been treated as more independent and rather equal partners with their male counterparts, much like the Veneti women. However, it is a pity, that Etruscologists fail to recognize the close relationships that existed between Villanovan and early Etruscan civilizations, which numerous Etruscan inscriptions that read almost like contemporary Slovene, indisputably prove beyond a shadow of a doubt.

clau klal, moril [U=V] clav; POZOR: nima samostalniške oblike; Kljub temu vidimo zametke povezave z imenom Klavdij, kot nam zatrjujejo etruskologi za besedo "clavtie" -- glejTudi: clavtie, clauceS, clauce, clan; clen, cleO, cles, cliam, clin, cluO, clut, ... were slaughtering, stabbing, killing; (NOTE: only verb form, however as Etruscologists pointed out for another word "clavtie", which they believe is a known family name Claudius, we can agree with them this time, because, the traces of that connection lead to this word here, which also show the consistency of the meaning of the name Claudius.) n/a

claucalual oblika besede klal, moril. Če je to pravilna transkripcija etruščanskega originala, potem je to lep primer nastajanja jezika, kjer se forma preliva v pomen in obratno. -- glejTudi: clau, clauce were slaughtering. If this is correct transcript of the Etruscan script than we have at hand an excellent example of evolving language, where the form and meaning are augmenting each other. Here we can also see that the theory Etruscologists devised about the suffix "-al" which to them represents a Genitive form, poorly fits within the rest of the forms which they failed to account for.

cle...

Etrlgs: Here is an example of the Etruscologists' work, which actually shows how totally groundless it is. If you care to look closely at the translation Etruscologists provided for this inscription, already the first few words on the first line, will tell you volumes about it. Indeed, the only thing that makes sense in their translation are a few names, they think they identified, but even those are not all reliable. It also looks they are inventing numbers all over again, since the number system they "discovered" from the two Etruscan dice is hardly a number system. Though, we will not go into a deeper analysis of this Etruscan script here, I wish to point out that the word cle... actually appears in this part of text four times, and that it provides provides a framework or a much more solid foundation on which we can build the translation.

I prepared two views of this inscription. In the second view each line of the side (I) of the inscription is mapped to the Etruscologists' translation. In the second (Slavic) view I explain the vocabulary of the script with the help of the newly emerging Etruscan dictionary based on Slovene or broader Slavic and implied Venetic vocabularies.

Next is the second (Slavic) view, so you can compare the two methods used in attempts to arrive at some understanding of the Etruscan language. Obviously, the two views differ significantly, while in the first above, the Etruscologists attempted to give an illusion, they understand almost everything in this Etruscan text, in the second view we do not attempt to provide a readable narrative of the text. Indeed, we should not claim we understand the text, but have some idea what it is about. There is no doubt in my mind that the same should be said about the first view, and I believe you will agree with my conclusion, namely, that the Etruscologists are using smoke and mirrors, i.e. the illusion, perhaps only to prove Etruscan and Venetic languages could not have been related to Slavic languages. But we know better, and I suggest you be the judge!

Opomba:

Note:
The above translation is only an experiment, and I do not wish to publish it as a serious work, but rather show how inviting it is to use a mix of Latin and Slavic to produce reasonable output effortlessly.

cluetie prekleto, zakleto; zaklano, umorjeno - čeprav je med vsemi meni dostopnimi etruščanskimi napisi mogoče najti le eno osamljeno besedo "cluetie", je zelo lep primer ki kaže, da imajo imena kot sta Klitemnestra in Klavdij koren kleti / klati.

-- glejTudi:cles, clen; cluetie; clutmsta; municlet, municlat, municleO, munisuleO, munisvleO

Cursed, spelled; killed - Though I found a single lonely word "cluetie", it is an excellent example of pointer to the meaning of the names such as Clytemnestra and Claudius. Needless to say that to a non-Slavic reader or linguists to whom Slavic languages represent a challenge may not appreciate these findings. n/a

This is also related to the word to speak which is also believed to be an element in the name "Veneti", and "Sloveneti" which in modern form is the name Slovenci (Slovenians). Of course the words "to curse", "to swear", "to pray, beg for mercy" still remain part of the meaning here. n/a

Slovensko: (Ploščica A) - Ta tempelj je posvetil in ga ozval za hram utehe boginje Junone ali Astarte vojvoda Velianas, knez slovenji, ko se je odpravljal v boj. Ta ponosna stavba je ostala, medtem ko je Morsko Ilakve zavzel gusar (Dioniz), Ilakve pa zasedel Ital. Od te nesreče naprej so žitelji in selja italska. Kakor se vidi, nam je tudi ta hram opustošil in jako poškodoval.
English: (Plate A) - This temple was built and named as the Temple of Solace of the Goddess Juno and Astarte by the Duke Velianas, Clovenji (Slovenji=Slovene), when he was preparing for the battle. This proud building still endures, whereas the coastal (meresca=Morsko) Ilakve has been taken by the pirate (Dionysius), and Ilakve has been taken by the Itals. Since this misfortune, the inhabitans and the settlements are Italic. As we can see, he ravaged and severely damaged this temple as well.
Etrlgs: (Both plates A & B) -
by M. Pallottino: This temple and (this) statue have been consecrated to Uni. The community (of Caere?) with Thefarie Veliana dedicated (them) [... unknown words ...] And for the statue the years (ought to be?) as (many as?) the stars(?).
NOTE: After Matej Bor has come up with his translation, also numerous copy-cats sprung up from the the other camp. There exists a more elaborate description of only this inscription:
